The rehabilitation team at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital is made up of three disciplines: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy helps improve movement and function, reduce pain, and increase independence. Treatments may include exercise for stretching, strengthening, and coordination/balance in order to improve quality of life and function.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy can help people regain independence in their activities of daily living. Treatments may include arm coordination and strengthening exercises, splinting, and teaching safe and adaptive techniques in the home or work environment.
Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-Language Pathology helps improve communication disorders, swallowing, and/or feeding complications. A Speech-Language Pathologist may work with patients to improve difficulties involving motor control, speech, language, memory, problem solving, and swallowing.
