What We Provide
Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Rehabilitation Services provides treatment for many types of foot problems. Working with your physician, our goal is to provide care that results in elimination of pain and/or wounds that have resulted from injury, an imbalance of the foot or poorly fitted or selected shoes.
Who Benefits From Orthotic Services
We have successfully helped more than 3,000 people with foot, knee, hip, or low back pain caused by foot problems including people with arthritic foot pain, those prone to ankle injuries or who are prone to develop calluses, corns or other foot ailments. All of these ailments benefit from this treatment program. Children with flat feet, ankles that turn over and cause pain or who suffer with night time leg pain may benefit.
Treatment Strategies
Following a thorough evaluation of your foot and lower extremities, treatment can include exercises for strengthening and stretching, a casting of your foot for shoe inserts (orthotics) and a final fitting once the orthotic is made. Education regarding properly fitting shoes will also be provided.
