Clinical Education Council
The purpose of the Nursing Clinical Education Council is to define, implement, and maintain educational standards that promote professional growth and ongoing clinical competency. The Nursing Clinical Education Council reviews annual educational needs through a needs assessment and sets goals. It ensures that educational plans meet the needs of nurse Colleagues. The Council also implements initiatives that support national certifications, advanced education, and membership in professional organizations. The Nursing Clinical Education Council collaborates with the Training Action Committee (TAC) on organizational learning initiatives. The Nursing Clinical Education Council actively promotes partnerships with schools of nursing.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)
The Division of Nursing encourages and supports continuing education. In 2009, nurses at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital completed 10,409.8 hours in continuing education. Northern Michigan Regional Hospital offers many opportunities through system class and conference, free online education, partnerships with Schools of Nursing, and resource available in our Medical Library. Many of our nurses received National Certifications with the help of Foundation Scholarships.
