PACS
Northern Michigan Regional Hospital uses an enterprise Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) system for
storage, viewing, and interpretation of all images. Images are available
to our physicians instantly with the click of a mouse.

PACS offers computer-based
access to radiological images and reports. With this system, all the
physicians involved in a patient's care can view both current and
previous comparison studies over the Internet from multiple sites simultaneously, greatly speeding diagnosis.
PACS offers great advantages to our physicians including:
- Physicians can readily discuss images with a patient.
- In an emergency, physicians can review images from anywhere.
- Images are stored electronically for easy reference and timely access.
- PACS allows
the use of image enhancement to improve the quality of radiographic
images.
