The Living Room Adult Day Services

The Living Room Adult Day Service program is for elderly and disabled individuals who need a place away from home to give their caregivers a break or allow them to work, to defuse social isolation and depression, and to avoid early nursing home placement. There are on average 10 - 15 individuals who take advantage of Living Room services on a daily basis.

Social and physical activities are offered such as an exercise program, community outings, a bible study group, arts and crafts, and a variety of games. Meals are provided daily including a hot lunch and two snacks. Personal care such as bathing, shampooing, and foot care is also available.

The professional staff of The Living Room is comprised of two RN's, one recreational therapist, one transportation coordinator, and a program coordinator. Medication and nursing management is available for those requiring assistance.

August 2005 marked the 17th Anniversary of The Living Room's services to adults of Petoskey and the surrounding communities. Funding is obtainable for those whose insurance will not cover the costs.

The Living Room is located at One MacDonald Drive, Petoskey, Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Lockwood MacDonald campus. Hours of care are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
